GREENVILLE, N.C. — Authorities seized thousands of dollars in Ecstasy Friday and arrested what the city's police department describes as two of the Greenville area's key players in the sale and distribution of the drug.

As a result of the two-year investigation, authorities seized more than 1,000 Ecstasy tablets, valued at almost $27,000.

Anthony Sean Yancey, 29, of Greenville; and John Robert Lovitt, 22, also of Greenville, were arrested on various charges, including trafficking Ecstasy by possession, conspiracy to traffic Ecstasy, possession with intent to sell and deliver Ecstasy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said they expect to arrest additional suspects in the suspected Ecstasy ring.

Yancey is currently in jail under a $4 million bond; Lovitt is also in jail under a $1.75 million bond. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 2.
