CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff deputies are searching for a Fayetteville man wanted in connection with the June 3 shooting of a young girl.

Authorities said 23-year old Henry Sims III fired a rifle into a mobile home on Holland Street.

Investigators believe the shooting was in retaliation to Sims being robbed during a botched drug deal. However, the suspect fired into the wrong home where several children, ranging in ages of one year to 14 years old, were located.

One of those children, a 12-year old girl, was shot in the back and seriously injured.

Sims is considered armed and dangerous. He has been known to frequent the Tiffany Pines area of Fayetteville.
