RALEIGH, N.C. — Drug agents arrested Friday 18 people in North Carolina and broke up an ecstasy operation that stretched from Florida to North Carolina.

Investigators said the two biggest local distributors were Tyrone Hicks and Stephanie Woodard of Raleigh. Both have been arrested and are being held in jail under more than a $1 million bond.

The drug bust landed 16 other people throughout the eastern part of North Carolina in jail.

Drug agents seized about 1,100 ecstasy pills that were to be sold in the Raleigh area, law-enforcement officials said.
