Posted Updated

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. — A New Hanover County couple could face numerous animal abuse charges.

Animal control officers seized more than 100 dachshunds, 14 cats and two birds from the couple's home.

Veterinarians say all of the dogs are receiving some sort of medical treatment.

The animals will have to remain in the county's custody until the case is resolved.
