Purple Heart Recipient Accused Of Killing Wife

RALEIGH, N.C. — A soldier from North Carolina who served in Iraq is now accused of killing his wife.

Spc. Brandon Bare, 19, of Wilkesboro, is behind bars at a correctional facility at Fort Lewis in Washington.

He was arrested after the body of his 18-year-old wife, Nabila, was found in the couple's home.

The Army will not say how she died or whether the couple had history of domestic violence.

Bare received the Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq.
