WILSON, N.C. — A possible medical mistake could land a Wilson doctor in court.
Cathy Webb has filed suit against Dr. Roger Thurman, claiming he left a towel inside her husband after surgery.
Thurman removed a lesion from Joseph Webb's pancreas last year, but Webb's condition worsened after the surgery. When doctors operated again, they found an 18-inch towel still inside him.
Webb, 59, died 21 days later.
Both Wilson Medical Center and Thurman deny responsibility.
