RALEIGH, N.C. — The search is on for a man who led authorities on a high speed chase overnight through Raleigh and Cary.

According to authorities, Jermaine Holloway, 25, was pulled over during a traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. near Ten Ten Road and Holland Church Road. When authorities realized Holloway had an outstanding warrant against him on drug charges, Holloway fled the scene.

Holloway was chased by authorities through the outskirts of Cary and Raleigh. The chase lasted more than a half-hour before ending at an apartment complex on Avent Ferry Road near Raleigh's Lake Johnson. Witnesses say the vehicle almost hit one of the buildings at the complex.

Two passengers who were in Holloway's vehicle got out while Holloway ran off on foot from authorities. Authorities used canine units, but they were unable to find Holloway. Investigators stopped searching for Holloway around 3 a.m., but they plan to resume their search Thursday morning.

Police say Holloway did not live at the apartment complex. He faces charges stemming from the chase, along with prior drug charges. The two passengers in Holloway's vehicle were not arrested.
