RALEIGH, N.C. — Search warrants returned this week detail the early-morning crime spree of three men charged with killing a retired Raleigh teacher.
Court records show Ezavia Allen, Marvin Johnson and Cameron Morris admit they tried to rob a man moments before they moved on to Shirley Newkirk's neighborhood.
Newkirk was shot in her car in her driveway. Police say she was on her way to a morning workout.
