Dill Air Controls, which makes automotive air valves, valve parts and automotive tire repair accessories, is also expected to invest $9 million in the county for machinery and equipment over the next three years.
The project was made possible, in part by a $150,000 grand from the One North Carolina Fund, which helps the state recruit and expand jobs by providing financial assistance to businesses that the governor believes would be vital to the state's economy.
The newly-formed company has begun hiring and is currently operating out of a temporary facility in Roxboro. Its permanent facility will be located in the former Lenox china plant in Oxford.
The majority of the new jobs will be skilled and semi-skilled manufacturing positions that will pay an average weekly salary of $594, well above the county average of $496.
"Dill Air Controls Products will be a significant addition to the already sizeable automotive manufacturing industry presence in North Carolina," Easley said in a written statement released Monday. "Our worker training programs and education system have provided us with a reputation in this industry that is second to none."
