EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Dental records led investigators to the identity of a body found in the woods in Edgecombe County last weekend.
The woman has been identified as 29-year-old Melody Wiggins of Rocky Mount.
Someone found her body near Nobles Mill Pond Road last Sunday.
Investigators made the connection after Wiggins' family reported her missing.
The medical examiner has not determined the cause of death.
The case, however, is being treated as a crime.
