Ottawa 9, Durham 4

OTTAWA, CANADA — Former Bull Midre Cummmings went 5-for-5 with two homers, three runs scored and five RBI, as Durham fell to Ottawa, 9-4.

Durham, now 26-30, is 3-2 on a 10-game road trip.

Cummings singled in the first run, helping Ottawa take advantage of the first of five Durham errors.

He later added homers in the fifth and eighth innings.

Of the nine runs, five were unearned.

Jon Switzer (0-1) allowed two unearned runs in four innings and took the loss.

Jeff Deardorff's seventh inning three-run homer and Eric Munson's solo shot in the ninth accounted for the Bulls scoring.

Lefty Chris Seddon will start for Durham on Saturday at 6:05 against Ottawa. Coverage on WDNC 620 begins at 5:30 p.m.
