Arrest Made in Wayne County Shooting
Dudley, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in Wayne County.
Armando Laredo, 18, of Dudley, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Arturo Acevedo.
Deputies said the drive-by shooting occurred at around 11:45 p.m. Saturday during a birthday party at the clubhouse on Durham Lake Road in Dudley. Authorities said the gunmen fired shots at the building, hitting the people inside.
Four other people were wounded in the shooting, including a 6-year-old girl. Their conditions are not known.
Venancio Martinez, 17 and Antonio Orterzo, whose age wasn't immediately known are sought for questioning in the shooting. Authorities are also looking for two other men, but their identities were not immediately known.
Authorities believe the men were last seen riding in a four-door red or burgundy 1998 Hyundai with North Carolina license plate number WPM-6706. They may also be armed with some type of rifle, authorities said.
Laredo is being held in the Wayne County Jail without bond. Anyone with information in regard to the shooting or the men sought for questioning is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at 919-731-1481.
