Here we go again,Is it not my right to voice my opinion about things I see going on in this country? Is it not my right to point out things like overuse of power? Is it not my right to speak on officers (who have made this career decision) who use their power for their own self interest? I am supposed to just sit back and sympathize with family members of officers who are paid to do a job they signed up to do? Your family member chose this life. Do not speak harshly of others who are using the same right you are using to criticize those of us who are speaking on what we see. If you are that upset about your family member being on duty, ask them to get another job because it has definitely warped your sense of reason. I mean really, on one side you say, "dont talk about my husband, hes doing this to make you safe". Then on the other hand you say, "I have the right to defend my husband from you name callers". Really, your husband is doing this so that you can sit at home and harass peopl

osbjmg, I am glad that not everyone puts officers down but this is the only time in the past few weeks that they haven't been put down. Did you read the posts when the students were fighting and an officer tazered one of them, the posts were nothing but put downs and comments like 'trigger happy'were used alot. I am glad that noone is blaming the officer or the EMS worker but I know some idiot probably will just to be funny. I am so glad that neither the officer or the EMS worker were hurt and hopefully the family didn't hear anything until they knew their loved one was ok. It is like living in a horror film when someone calls you to say that your husband was hurt in the line of duty and not know anything else. What makes it worse is when you are 9 months pregnant and you can't get in touch with your husband or anyone else for 2 hours. I have been there and it is a living hell. Think about the wives and families before you make such hateful comments as the ones I've seen.(aka - ktncnn

I moved to NC a few years ago and live in Durham, but work in RTP. I find Cary/Raleigh too fake and small town. Durham at least feels like a real city. Real cities have crime and character. Local news is never great, but is this all you have to do? Pretend like living in Raleigh is so much better? If it's better, then enjoy it. Nobody is challenging you or tempting you to live in Durham.

ktcnn - I think he has been in a cell before, judging by the file photo, but good idea anyway. Who said anything about putting an officer down? I don't think anyone on here wants to put officers down.

WRAL - We could use some more information, this page is barely a paragraph long. It's almost not worth printing if you don't have any more details than this. Where do you find good journalism around here?

anthsco, you hit the nail on the head. I am sure that the NAACP will turn it around and say that the man felt threatened, give me a daggone break. For all you idiots who have something to say about an officer tazering a person or pulling a gun, what do you say about this piece of crap firing at them and they weren't even chasing him. Imagine that???? I hope you all think twice about putting an officer down now after stuff like this happens. This man needs to be put in a cell like the animal he is...
