RDU Study Shows Need For Direct Flights To West Coast

Posted Updated

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Raleigh-Durham International Airport is pushing to get more direct flights to the west coast.

A new study commissioned by RDU, found the airport needs direct flights to Los Angeles, Denver and the San Francisco-San Jose areas.

In one year, over 500 people traveled to Los Angeles every day. About 350 people per day flew to the San Francisco area, and 230 passengers flew to Denver in that same 12-month period.

RDU officials said they will use this information to show carriers the demand for these nonstop services.
