<b>HARNETT COUNTY, N.C.</b> — A Harnett County man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for the murder of his girlfriend's father.

Dennis Clemmons was found guilty by the Harnett County jury and will not be eligible for parole.

Investigators say the murder happened last March during an incident in which Clemmons was beating his girlfriend.

Authorities say she called her father, Thurman Allen to come get her.

When he arrived, Clemmons shot Allen through Allen's truck four times.
