Students' Efforts To Increase Student Safety Pays Off

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some of the fifth-graders of Olds Elementary School and their parents noticed that speeding cars in front of the school had become a hazard for pedestrian traffic to and from the school.

The students researched the dangers and made their case for a pedestrian stoplight to the Raleigh City Council.

The student effort to increase safety paid off. City council members approved the request.

Olds Elementary School officials hope to have the light installed by the end of the year.
