$10K in Rewards Offered in Church Fires
Greenville authorities and several Pitt County churches are offering a cash reward for information regarding two suspicious church fires in Greenville over the weekend.
Pitt-Greenville CrimeStoppers and several Pitt County churches have offered two rewards totaling $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in the incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call Pitt-Greenville CrimeStoppers at 252-758-7777 or the Greenville Police Department at 252-329-4300.
Fire destroyed Memorial Baptist Church Saturday night. Shortly afterward, a second fire broke out at Unity Free Will Baptist Church nearby. Police said someone also broke into Oakmount Baptist Church.
The FBI has joined local law enforcement in the investigation. No information about the cause of the fires available is available, authorities said.
