CARY, N.C. — The town of Cary is getting ready to dive into a new $40-million aquatic center.
On Monday, the Wake County Board of Commissioners approved $10 million for the project.
The money comes from the hotel-motel tax.
The center would have several indoor and outdoor pools, a diving pool and hockey rinks.
The project is somewhat controversial in Cary. A private group is moving forward with its own plans for a similar center.
