Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Wake County courtroom.

The judge sentenced James McDaniel-Webb to 23 years on three counts of statuatory rape.

Prosecutors say Webb became the girl's legal guardian and brought her home from an orphanage to live in his home.

He is also serving a six-year sentence on a federal obscenity charge.
