Woman Dies In Wade Avenue Accident Near Westbound I-40

RALEIGH, N.C. — The highway patrol has released the name of a woman who died Monday in an accident on Wade Avenue in Raleigh.

Officials say a tire blew out on the car of 34-year-old Heather Lynn Pronko of Freemont, N.C., causing it to cross the median and crash into a tractor-trailer.

Traffic was delayed for almost two hours Monday while police and rescue crews responded to the accident.

The accident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. at mile marker 289 near where Wade Avenue connects with westbound Interstate 40.
