Raleigh To Start Using Garbage Trucks With Mechanical Arms

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The city of Raleigh is telling its residents to keep trash in the can or else.

The city will start using garbage trucks with mechanical arms in the next few months.

There will no longer be workers on the back of the trucks, which means the trucks can only pick up the city-issued cans. Additional trash left on the ground will not be collected.

The city will start a new education campaign for the fully automated service. It will also consider limited, extra pick-ups for free.
