CARY, N.C. — Homeowners in Cary could be getting some help from the town when it comes to paying for flood prevention, but that may not be enough for one resident.
Mike Inhat's home borders Walnut Creek. He said that when town planners approved new developments, they did not take into account that water from rains would flow downhill and overflow the creek.
"This problem was created by the town of Cary. They should come in and have to resolve this problem," he said.
There is a proposal for the town to pay for half the cost of drainage improvements. Inhat thinks the town leaders should pay for the whole amount.
Town leaders hope to have a final policy by late summer.
