HOKE COUNTY, N.C. — Two aircraft landed in Hoke County early Thursday morning after one of them reported mechanical problems.
One aircraft, a U-H 60 Black Hawk military helicopter had mechanical problems and landed without incident at about 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
According to officials at Fort Bragg, the Blackhawk had a systems check light come on and, in a standard procedure, the pilot put the helicopter down as a precautionary move.
Another helicopter landed to assist the Black Hawk.
The Black Hawk helicopter landed on a field near 3560 Rockfish Road in Hoke County, about 10 miles from Fort Bragg. The helicopter was checked over and took off around noon Thursday.
There were no injuries.
The helicopter is from the 2nd Battalion of the 82nd Airborne.
