State Will Not Take Further Action Against Franklin EMS Personnel

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state closed its investigation into a man declared dead by EMS personnel when he was actually alive.

In January, Larry Donnell Green was hit by a car while walking on Highway 401 near Louisburg. The first EMS responders on the scene determined he was dead.

Hours later at the morgue, the medical examiner determined Green was alive.

The state suspended the licenses of two EMS responders. On Thursday, the state decided it will not punish any of the other medical personnel who responded to the scene.

Green is still listed in critical condition in the hospital.
