Visitors In Durham May Pay More For Proposed Theater Project

DURHAM, N.C. — Visitors to Durham may have to pony up more for a proposed performing arts theater.

City leaders want to extend a hotel tax hike for another year to pay for the project.

State lawmakers approved the tax nearly three years ago, but with the agreement that Durham would break ground on the $35 million project before next September.
