Troopers Graduation
RALEIGH, N.C. — If this

weekend's winter weather

causes traffic problems, the Highway Patrol will have some extra help.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol graduated 15 new troopers. Two of them will work in Wake County.

Last week, state troopers helped with problems caused by the surprise snow.

"Shortly after dinnertime, our troopers did go into the city. Our helicopter flew over the city and we helped move DOT trucks to critical locations in and outside the city of Raleigh," said Col. Fletcher Clay, commander of the Highway Patrol.

According to the Highway Patrol, the current trooper shortage did not contribute to traffic problems following last week's snow.
