Driver, Passenger Identified In Christmas Eve Wreck

NASH COUNTY, N.C. — A Deputy U.S. Marshall was one of the people who died in a deadly crash Christmas Eve.

The Highway Patrol says the driver of an 18 wheeler caused a Corvette to run off the road and hit a bridge on Interstate 95 just outside Rocky Mount.

The couple inside died.

They are identified as Delinwood Pearson, a deputy U.S. marshall, and Janet Pearson from Richmond, Va.

The truck driver, Roy Jones Jr, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
