Raleigh Neighborhood, Progress Energy In Power Struggle

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — There is a power struggle -- literally -- between a Raleigh community and Progress Energy.

At a meeting Tuesday, residents debated the location of power lines planned for the neighborhood around the RBC Center and Trinity Road.

Opponents said the lines will ruin the area's appearance, and they do not like where they are placed. Progress Energy said its plan is best for the environment.

The state Utilities Commission will have the final word.
