Man Arrested For Attacking Media Outside Wake Courthouse

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have arrested a South Carolina man who lashed out at the media outside the Wake County courthouse.

Asa Collier, 18, surrendered to authorities at 2 p.m. Tuesday. He was wanted on two counts of simple assault and two counts of damage to property.

Collier appeared at a court hearing Monday involving three people charged with causing damage to the state Republican Headquarters Building.

When asked whether he was involved with the vandalism, Collier assaulted news photographers and damaged their cameras.

He is being held on $10,000 bond.
