Dix Employee Convicted On Child Abuse Charges

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County judge convicted a Dorothea Dix employee of child abuse, but he is already appealing the sentence.

The judge sentenced Robert Barney to anger management courses and community service.

Barney was arrested in May. He has since been working in an adult unit.

On Tuesday, former Dix employee

William Hahn

pleaded guilty to simple assault.
