CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Troopers are investigating what caused a wreck that killed an Orange County sheriff's deputy.
Officials say Jodi Strickland's car ran off Efland Cedar Grove Road outside of Hillsborough and hit a tree. Authorities say she was not wearing a seat belt and was not on duty at the time of the accident.
Strickland was a school resource officer at A.L. Stanback Middle School.
A visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hudson Funeral Home on South Miami Boulevard in Durham.
Strickland's funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grey Stone Baptist Church on Hillsborough Road in Durham.
