Boil Water Notice In Effect For North Chatham County

Posted Updated

PITTSBORO, N.C. — A water main break Tuesday afternoon has disrupted water service in northern Chatham County and has prompted a boil-water advisory.

A 16-inch water main broke at the corner of Jack Bennett and Lystra Roads at about 2:30 p.m.

Water has been restored to Governors Club, Jack Bennett Road and Farrington Point Road.

The Preserve, Lystra Church Road and Heritage Point remain without water. Crews are working to repair the break, but it could be several hours before water service is restored to all areas.

Water customers are urged to conserve water until the break is repaired.

Residents should boil all water used for human consumption until further notice.

The status of the affected areas will be updated as soon as water samples from the affected areas are gathered and analyzed.
