RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office was searching Tuesday night for a man who fled the scene of a shooting that happened near Raleigh.

Fernando Palma Carias, 47, was last seen driving a 2004 burgundy, four-door Camry with a temporary tag. Deputies said Carias is considered armed and dangerous.

Deputies were dispatched about 9:20 p.m. to a dwelling at 5729 Manor Plantation Drive, near Rock Service Station Road. Sheriff Donnie Harrison, who also went to the scene, said Carias lived at the home with a woman and two children. It was unclear whether the children were home at the time of the shooting, but Harrison said they were not injured.

Harrison said more details will be released as the investigation continues.
