Wendell Lifts Water Conservation Order; Zebulon Issues Boil Advisory

Posted Updated

WENDELL, N.C. — The town of Wendell has ended a mandatory water conservation order that was issued Wednesday after water problems in Knightdale.

The order officially was lifted at noon Thursday.

A boil-water advisory was in effect in Knightdale and Zebulon on Thursday.

A leak and pump problem caused a water outage in Knightdale Wednesday morning. Because Knightdale also supplies water to Wendell and Zebulon, those towns also were affected.

Zebulon officials said there was no evidence to suggest that the water is not safe to drink, but they issued the boil advisory until test results have confirmed that the water is indeed safe to drink.
