Posted Updated

NORFOLK, VA. — A fugitive from Wayne County, who was considered armed and dangerous, was captured Monday in Norfolk during a traffic stop.

Wayne County deputies had sought Quanta Garner since the last week of May. He was wanted on two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Garner will be extradicted to North Carolina to answer to the charges.

Garner is accused of shooting his uncle, Lonnie Garner, at a residence in Dudley, N.C. Investigators believe Garner fired into the residence after an argument with Garner, who received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hip.

Two other homes in the same mobile-home park also were fired upon during the shooting.
