SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Sampson County woman and her estranged husband are dead following a murder-suicide.
The Sampson County Sheriff's Office said John Williamson, Sr. went to Judy Warren's home in the Kitty Fork community early Sunday morning. He reportedly shot her to death, then shot himself.
Warren, who kept her maiden name, worked in the Sampson County Clerk of Court's office and was a candidate for clerk in 2002.
Warren had also recently taken out a protective order against her husband.
