Easley Vetoes Billboard Bill

RALEIGH, N.C. — Gov. Mike Easley got involved in a heated highway debate Friday.

Friday afternoon, Easley vetoed a controversial billboard bill.

House Bill 429

would have required cities to pay billboard companies large amounts of cash to remove billboards.

The bill goes back to the House for reconsideration.
