Two More Robeson County Kidnapping Suspects Arrested

Posted Updated

LUMBERTON, N.C. — Two more people face charges in connection with a recent kidnapping in Robeson County.

With their shirts over their faces Tuesday, suspects Larry Everett and Joey Guy made their way into the Robeson County jail. Both men faced first-degree kidnapping charges in the April abduction of 3-year-old Jai-Mya Glover.

Shortly after the kidnapping, officers returned Glover home safely. They also arrested a suspect, Larry Nance.

Investigators spent weeks gathering evidence, like surveillence video from a Cumberland County Wal-Mart. Finally, they got arrest warrants for four other suspects: Demetrice Copening, Reginald Pickett, Everett, and Guy.

Investigators still are looking for Copening and Pickett. But Everett and Guy were easy to find -- both were behind bars in Cumberland County on unrelated charges.

Guy was arrested just after the kidnapping for a number of charges, including failure to appear in an assault case.

Everett was arrested a few weeks later, also for failure to appear, mainly in drug cases.

Both men have been transferred from Cumberland County to Robeson County, where Nance has been for months.

The way investigators see it, there are three arrests down, at least two more to go.
