SANFORD, N.C. — The son of a missing Sanford woman is charged with filing a false report.
Police say 16-year-old Justin Holder told them he witnessed a woman being abducted.
Officers believe Holder filed the fake report because he gave the suspect money for marijuana, but he never got it.
Investigators quickly checked out Holder's claim because it closely mirrored what reportedly happened to his mother. Linda Watts has been missing since early May.
The Sanford Herald is offering a $5,000 reward.
