Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh is getting another new luxury hotel.

The developers of North Hills announced plans Tuesday for a four-star Renaissance Hotel. The hotel will be built by Raleigh-based Concord Hospitality Enterprises.

It will have 240 upscale rooms and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. The hotel is part of the new North Hills mixed-used development being built where the old mall used to be.

Stores will begin opening this fall. The hotel will open in late 2005.

In addition to the new Renaissance at North Hills, developers plan to turn the old Sheraton near Crabtree Valley Mall into a Westin. The 225-room hotel is scheduled to open next summer.

Construction on the Umstead on the SAS Campus is expected to begin this fall. The 150-room development is expected to open late next fall and a four-star Marriott hotel could open in downtown Raleigh by late 2007.
