CLAYTON, N.C. — A high-school junior and a 35-year-old mother are dead after an accident Thursday in Johnston County.
Both victims lived just a few miles away from the scene of the accident. Delongis reportedly was on his way to visit his girlfriend.
A three-mile stretch of the road was closed for several hours.
People living in the area described the road as winding and said that the 55-mph speed limit adds to the danger.
By late afternoon, neighbors marked the scene with a single pot of flowers in honor of both victims.
