HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Hillsborough leaders are turning to the courts to help them preserve a historical inn.
The town is suing the Colonial Inn and its owner, Francis Henry.
Leaders want the courts to order the defendants to rehab the building or authorize them to perform the work. The town would then assess the cost as a lien against the property.
Henry is being fined $100-a-day for neglecting the property. As of Tuesday, the fine is up to $5,700.
