RDU To Get Additional Screeners

Posted Updated

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The government is increasing the number of security screeners in dozens of airports around the country, including

Raleigh-Durham International Airport

.

The airport is expected to get 25 new screeners. Airports deemed overstaffed will lose screeners.

The move is part of an effort to reduce long waits for travelers in time for the summer travel season and is the third reallocation since the program's inception in November 2002.
