SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Authorities are conducting an investigation following the discovery of two bodies at a Southern Pines home.
On Monday, police responded to a call about an aggravated assault at 635 West Iowa Ave. When officers arrived, they found Phaedra Renee McCrimmon, 34, of Cameron shot multiple times and lying on a porch. She was taken to First Health Moore Regional Emergency Department and subsequently airlifted to UNC Hospitals, where she later died.
Police also found the body of 42-year-old Herbert Recee McNeill Jr. Police said McNeill, who lives at the residence, died of a single gunshot wound.
Authorities have not released a possible motive for the shooting. The case is still under investigation.
