State Confirms Another Case Of Rabies In Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — State health officials confirmed Wednesday the fifth case of rabies in Cumberland County this year.

Officials said a raccoon tested positive for rabies. The animal may have had contact with four dogs on Inverness Drive Monday.

It is the fifth confirmed case of rabies in the county in the past seven weeks.

Officials said rabies activity appears to be on the increase in the northern, western and southern parts of the county.
