Wade Avenue To Close Nightly For Glenwood Ave. Bridge Construction

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation will temporarily close Wade Avenue at the Glenwood Avenue Bridge nightly from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. beginning Monday, April 26, through Thursday, April 29, weather permitting.

Motorists traveling on Wade Avenue will use the following detours:

  • Motorists traveling east will exit onto Glenwood Avenue south to Peace Street.
  • Motorists traveling west will exit onto Glenwood Avenue to Harvey Street, then make a U-turn back onto the ramp to westbound Wade Avenue.
  • City police will be directing traffic through the detours.

    The closure is part of the construction to replace the Glenwood Avenue Bridge.

    Motorists are reminded to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit in the work zone.
