Durham City Council Pays For Lost Revenue At Carolina Theater

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham City Council is picking up the tab for lost revenue due to some confusion at the Carolina Theater.

An official questioned whether dozens of seats violated city code. They were roped off for two months until the city realized the seats were OK.

The Durham City Council voted Thursday to give the theater a grant of more than $46,000, which is how much the theater lost while the seats were off-limits.
