— A Sharpsburg teen fatally wounded his younger brother Wednesday afternoon in what authorities are calling a "domestic assault," Sharpsburg police said.

Officers were dispatched to the home, at 804 Mill Branch Road, after the older boy called 911, police said. The brothers were arguing before the attack, and their parents weren't home at the time.

"One brother was upset with the other brother, and that's what occurred, this homicide," said interim police Chief Ron Thompson.

When officers arrived, the older boy was standing in the doorway and his brother was dead from what appeared to be blunt force trauma injuries, police said.

"We found the suspect in the house and, basically, we subdued him, got him subdued and locked up," Thompson said. Sharpsburg homicide Sharpsburg juvenile killed in fight with brother

Olabode Raphael Fashola, 16, was being held at the Nash County jail. Police haven't released his brother's name or age.

"It's an unfortunate situation," Thompson said. "You don't really plan for this type of thing, but it happens. There's domestic violence everywhere."

The house has a Rocky Mount mailing address, but is located in the town of Sharpsburg,

We had to do a paper on the most beautiful place in america and Olufemi did the McDonald's across the street from his old house in Maryland. I don't know where he learned most of the words that he put in his paper. I have a copy of it and everyone has been having a hard time with this.
    :(
    Keep us in your prayers!:)

The one that was killed was my classmate...we weren't the best of friends but I am still sad...everyone on the 7th grade hall was either crying or just sad...it was horrible, what the older one did to the younger. Olufemi Fashola was the one that was killed and we will miss him very much.

This is a sad situation. I pray for all involved. You know that the one who killed the other really didn't mean too. My kids fuss and fight all the time but if one were to do something to the other one to hurt them they would be really upset. We do not know the whole story. Let's don't jump to conclusions. It will all come out before long.
Some of you up here talking are so quick to say throw him in jail for life...think if it was your children...

The little boy that was killed was a friend of my son's. How do I help him make sense of this? This is just a sad situation all around. My prayers are with the family who has not only lost one son but will soon lose the other son.

I would consult a counselor who specializes in grief and loss, and most likely interview the counselor alone before taking my child for a visit.

What a fine and christian statement. I'm sure if the boy's parents read it, they'll be comforted.

a verbal argument leading to pushing, shoving, punching between siblings...all it takes is to be hit in the wrong spot or hit your head on something...and it could be fatal...this is very very sad...
