ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Sharpsburg teen fatally wounded his younger brother Wednesday afternoon in what authorities are calling a "domestic assault," Sharpsburg police said.

Officers were dispatched to the home, at 804 Mill Branch Road, after the older boy called 911, police said. The brothers were arguing before the attack, and their parents weren't home at the time.

"One brother was upset with the other brother, and that's what occurred, this homicide," said interim police Chief Ron Thompson.

When officers arrived, the older boy was standing in the doorway and his brother was dead from what appeared to be blunt force trauma injuries, police said.

"We found the suspect in the house and, basically, we subdued him, got him subdued and locked up," Thompson said.

Olabode Raphael Fashola, 16, was being held at the Nash County jail. Police haven't released his brother's name or age.

"It's an unfortunate situation," Thompson said. "You don't really plan for this type of thing, but it happens. There's domestic violence everywhere."

The house has a Rocky Mount mailing address, but is located in the town of Sharpsburg,
