Suspect Charged In Wilson Stabbing Death

WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson man is dead after police say he was stabbed early Tuesday morning.

Police responding to a call of a stabbing found Anthony Williams at a home at 301 Daniel St. around 1:21 a.m.

Williams, 28, of Toisnot Avenue, suffered a stab wound to his chest and later died.

Sammie Draughn, 44, of 301 Daniel St. was arrested at a nearby apartment complex.

Draughn is charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Wilson County Detention Center without bond.

An investigation is under way.
