JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A suspect in the shooting of a North Carolina A& T football player has been arrested.
Investigators say Rontragus "Tra" Atkins, 20, shot and killed Herbert Dixon early Saturday morning at the D&L nightclub in Benson.
Atkins is charged with murder, as well as two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious bodily injury, in relation to two others injured in the shooting. He is being held without bond.
